Worship Online
Central’s Session has agreed that it is in the best interest of all who worship at Central, and all who are served by our community, to cancel all in-person worship and activities at Central until further notice. Every Sunday, new content will be posted to this page for a worship-on-demand experience that you can view anytime throughout the week. For those without regular internet access, we are mailing worship materials via postal mail. If you have limited web access or know of someone in need of mailed content, please contact Anna Sanchez or call (651) 224-4748.

DWELLING IN HOPE RALLY NOW ONLINE ONLY
Central's Coordinated Mission Committee invites you to join Beacon leaders, clergy and supporters from across our collaborative for a Zoom rally on Sunday, November 15 at 2:00 p.m. to demonstrate our power and commitment to showing up no matter who wins on election day. ( Following the lead of Minnesota health officials and out of an abundance of caution and care for one another and our community, we will not be meeting in person at the state capitol for this rally. We'll still be hearing from clergy, Beacon leaders, and state legislators about the need to prioritize home in 2021 and beyond. And we still need you to show up (virtually!) to demonstrate our commitment to all people having a home!
To participate on Sunday, refer to the eConnect midweek email for the Zoom link and passcode.
CALL TO CONGREGATIONAL MEETING
A congregational meeting will be held Sunday, November 15 at 11:30 am. All active members of the Central congregation are eligible to vote and be considered for office. This meeting will be conducted using Zoom technology. (Zoom link information was sent directly to members via postal mail and/or email.) During this meeting, the congregation will act on the request of the Rev. Dr. David Colby to dissolve the pastoral relationship with Central. The congregation will also elect officers. A slate of nominees for vacant positions on the Session and Board of Deacons will be presented by the Nominating Committee, as well as nominations for next year’s Nominating Committee member-at-large positions. Additional nominations from the floor may be made at the meeting.
ANTI-RACISM DISCUSSION SERIES CONTINUES
Central Church's Anti-Racism Task Force presented an overview of Ibram Kendi's book How to Be an Antiracist several months ago during the Bible Study hour, encouraging Central members and friends to read the book for themselves. Now, the Task Force returns with an opportunity to discuss Kendi's work in more detail.
The online discussion began November 2 and run for six Monday evenings from 7 to 8 p.m. All Central members and friends are welcome to participate in one or all of the discussions. Task Force members will summarize the chapters under discussion on any particular evening, so interested readers should have no fear of attending even if they are unable to complete the reading. Kendi maintains that we cannot be content to be "not racist." Rather, we must become "antiracist." Join the Anti-Racism Task Force in discovering and reflecting on the difference together.
Saint Paul Public Library may have electronic books for loan, but hard copies have multiple holds. A few copies of the book are available to borrow from the church, and local bookstores have copies on hand for purchase. To get the Zoom link for this event, check the mid-week eConnect email or email Anna Sanchez.
JOIN US FOR COFFEE TIME
Join us to celebrate and honor our confirmation class of 2020 on November 22nd! The Confirmation Celebration Worship Service will premier that morning, then we'll be on Zoom with the confirmands at 11:30 a.m., so come by with your coffee, check in, and say hi! The Zoom link is available in the eConnect mid-week email or by contacting the office.
QUESTIONS AND EMERGENCIES
If at anytime you have questions, concerns or ideas, we invite you to reach out to our staff who will continue to be available. While voice mail will be checked as staff are able, we encourage you to send emails for more immediate response. If you have a pastoral emergency, please call 651-224-4728 ext. 102 and the voicemail will provide instruction to reach the pastor.
