Worship Online

Central’s Session has agreed that it is in the best interest of all who worship at Central, and all who are served by our community, to cancel all in-person worship and activities at Central until further notice. Every Sunday, new content will be posted to this page for a worship-on-demand experience that you can view anytime throughout the week. For those without regular internet access, we are mailing worship materials via postal mail. If you have limited web access or know of someone in need of mailed content, please contact Anna Sanchez or call (651) 224-4748.

ALL SORTS OF TRIVIA, FOR ALL SORTS OF FOLKS!
Jump onto Zoom Wednesday, September 30 from 7:15 – 8:15 p.m. and join the Central music ministry folks for a new event!   The whole church is invited to participate, and some of the questions will be specifically geared towards kids so bring the whole family!   Some of the fun topics include Musical Theater, Great Piano Repertoire, Hymns, and other interesting subjects.   This will be hosted by Jennifer and the music staff.
(For this Zoom event, you will be on mute, and answers will be written down. In other words, you don't need to talk at all -- so even if you've had a long day on Zoom, just come and bring your paper and pen and enjoy.  Low stress!) For the Zoom access info, check the mid-week eConnect email or reach out to Anna Sanchez in the office.

OCTOBER NEWSLETTER
Soon the latest edition of Connect Central will be delivered to mailboxes.   But you needn't wait!  Download the October newsletter here.  To sign up to have this delivered to your mailbox or inbox, drop an email to Anna Sanchez. Take a look through to not only learn about upcoming events and activities but also learn about building construction projects currently underway!

FAITH FORMATION FOR CHILDREN & YOUTH
We invite all children and youth to join us for Faith Formation on Sundays! These faith formation Zoom gatherings will be flexible in content, with opportunities for grandparents or other far-away family members to join us on occasion, some time for reading stories from the bible and elsewhere and discussing together, checking in with one another, and playing games.

  • 11:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.  Prek-5th grade (split by ages after greeting & check-in)

  • 1:00 - 1:45 p.m.  Middle and high school youth

  • 2:00 - 3:00 p.m.  Confirmation class

Led by Katie Morris, Megan Beese, and other adults in the Central community, we hope to provide space for the children and youth to stay connected with their church friends and feel spiritually nourished. (The Zoom links are included in the Children and Youth weekly email.)  If you need help or have questions, contact Katie Morris. We know that online gatherings don't work well for everyone, and we understand! If you have ideas about how your child would like to stay connected, or how your family would like to be supported by church programming this year, let us know.

FALL FAMILY HIKE DAY - OCTOBER 4th
The Children and Youth Committee invites you to a hike on Sunday, October 4th!  Unfortunately, our beloved Koinonia is closed to guests because of COVID-19, so we won't be able to go for our annual weekend retreat.  So, instead, we hope you'll join us for a morning of hiking and spending time outside together at Hidden Falls Park!

  • WHAT: Join us to stroll along some of the trails at Hidden Falls Park (we'll have groups for various hike lengths/etc., so all are welcome!), then gather back for a physically distanced BYO-food picnic and activities.

  • WHO: All ages are welcome! If your family isn't up for walking, you can just join us for the picnic and activities afterward!

  • WHEN:  Sunday, October 4th - we'll meet at the park at 9:00 a.m. and spend several hours exploring and gathering. RSVP to make sure you have the most up-to-date info!

  • WHERE:  Hidden Falls Park in St. Paul - RSVP so that we can share meeting locations with you!

What about safety? As with our other family picnics, we want this gathering to be as safe and as comfortable as possible for folks, so we will have some expectations in place for all families corresponding with guidance from Central's COVID Taskforce.

Bring-your-own! This includes lunch/snacks/water/chairs/blankets, whatever you need to feel comfortable. Stay physically distanced, and use masks other than when eating/drinking.  We know that physical distancing can be tough for kiddos, but in order to make this safe for everyone, families will be expected to remind their little ones not to get too close to others. Depending on the number of folks interested, we may end up splitting into smaller groups for hiking/etc., so please RSVP to Katie Morris by Thursday, October 1st!  This will allow us to communicate with you about meeting points and any last-minute weather decisions.

CONNECTION CIRCLES
Have you yet shared in Central's weekly Connection Circles?   Connection Circles run every Thursday until December 17 from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. (with the exception of Thanksgiving Day). These Zoom events are hosted by Central's Deacons and offered as a means for our community to gather and connect through different guided conversations. People of all ages and backgrounds share personal stories, concerns, and offer support with others. If you have not yet been a part of one, we invite you to stop by for this wonderful, casual gathering. Be a part of one or as many as you like! The Zoom link can be requested from Anna Sanchez or found in the weekly mid-week email eConnect.

QUESTIONS AND EMERGENCIES
If at anytime you have questions, concerns or ideas, we invite you to reach out to our staff who will continue to be available.  While voice mail will be checked as staff are able, we encourage you to send emails for more immediate response.  If you have a pastoral emergency, please call 651-224-4728 ext. 102 and the voicemail will provide instruction to reach the pastor.
