Worship Online

Central’s Session has agreed that it is in the best interest of all who worship at Central, and all who are served by our community, to cancel all in-person worship and activities at Central through April 30th.  (To read the full statement, click here.)

Every Sunday, new content will be posted to this page for a worship-on-demand experience that you can view anytime throughout the week. To see prior Sunday content, see the bottom of this page. For those without regular internet access, we are mailing worship materials via postal mail. If you have limited web access or know of someone in need of mailed content, please contact Anna Sanchez or call (651) 224-4748.

For tips on video viewing, see bottom of page.

Sunday, April 19

Let us begin with a prayer:

Gracious God, you gather us in ways familiar and strange.  As we worship in new ways, we do so trusting in your ability to inspire and heal, grateful for opportunities to connect to your love and to the love of others.  So now we ask that you take us, mold us, shape us into your people in your world at this particular time.  Amen.

Prayers of the People

A prayer by Pádraig Ó Tuama

Holy God, we give you thanks for the gift of life,
of holy breath that animates our lungs and our bodies.
We give you thanks for so many things today:

For hope
for signs of new life
for flowers emerging from the soil and buds on the trees
for neighbors who look out for us
for music that brings joy
for little bits of good news

We long for, and ask that you speed the day when
our loved ones regain their health
when we might safely gather together
for sorrow to give way to joy
concern for the common good is enlarged and embraced

We pray for
those who are grieving
those who are ill
those in harm's way
those who are weary and worn-out

Jesus, our dead and living friend,
We walk the ways of death and life
holding fear in one hand
and courage in the other.

Come find us when we are locked away.
Come enliven us.
Come bless us with your peace.
Because you are the first day of creation
And all days of creation.

Amen.

Offering

If Central is your church home, we encourage you to continue your tithes and offerings during this season. In so many ways, the work of Central is more important than ever before as we step up to serve those lacking important resources of daily living. You can give one time or set up a recurring payment by clicking on the donate button to the right.

little bits of good news

This Sunday we celebrate good things in our lives right now, from throughout our community and within our congregation. Thank you to Jennifer Anderson and Obadiah Gamble for sharing the music you hear and thank you to everyone who contributed to this video. (A special shout out to Kiera Faye for her work to so beautifully weave it all together!) We had more submissions than we could fit in this format, so stay tuned for other posts or perhaps video part 2!
