Join us for worship this weekend!
Sunday, february 17 at 10:30 am
The gospel series continues with the Beatitudes ("blessed are the poor...") in Luke 6:17-26. In pairing this reading with Psalm 1, the day offers an opportunity to reflect on what it means to be righteous instead of wicked and how to participate in God's work in our world. Central Choir sings.
Following worship, all are invited to join us for a Third Sunday lunch. Then, after lunch, a town hall forum for those who wish to learn more about Central, ask questions or get more involved.

VocalPoint is an intense choral experience that challenges people through music to build a better world. This year, VocalPoint will be partnering with Walk-In Counseling Center, which provides free mental health counseling services. VocalPoint will be telling their story on how we can hold space for others when they are needing someone to listen without judgement. Tickets are $15 advance, $20 at the door and $10 students.

Singers looking for a rich, rewarding choral challenge are invited to participate with us. The piece will be sung in worship on Sunday, April 7 at 10:30 a.m. While there is no audition, previous choral experience is necessary as is an ability to blend. RSVP your music by February 17 to Director of Music, Jennifer Anderson. Learn more about Arvo Pärt's Berliner Messe on this page.
Town Hall Forum
February 17 - 12:30 p.m.
Do you want to get more involved, but need to know how? Have you noticed things at Central that make you scratch your head and wonder why they are done that way? Curious about finances? Committee structure? Future plans? With many members of Dayton Avenue Presbyterian Church now participating in the life of Central, we think it might be a good idea for a free-flowing conversation that answers questions, considers new ideas, and imagines the future. Any and all are welcome to join Rev. Colby and leaders from the congregation to ask, learn and discuss.
From the News Blog
“In the gospel, with the good news of Jesus, we are sometimes put on edge. On the edge of painful truths about ourselves or the world. Or we get to stand on the edge and look out at a new possibility.”
Rev. David Colby / Read the Full Sermon from February 3, 2019
