Worship Online

Central’s Session has agreed that it is in the best interest of all who worship at Central, and all who are served by our community, to cancel all in-person worship and activities at Central until further notice. Every Sunday, new content will be posted to this page for a worship-on-demand experience that you can view anytime throughout the week. For those without regular internet access, we are mailing worship materials via postal mail. If you have limited web access or know of someone in need of mailed content, please contact Anna Sanchez or call (651) 224-4748.

HYMN

Director of Music Ministry Jennifer Anderson plays Breathe On Me, Breath of God.

Facing Racism

Members of Central's Anti-Racism Task Force read from the newest confession in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)'s Book of Confessions. The Belhar Confession emerged out of the post-apartheid context in South Africa, as the church named how it had fallen short and how its mission and ministry would be guided. To read the entire Belhar Confession, go to here. To read the entire Facing Racism: A Vision of the Beloved Community go to here. To read the text from the above video, click here.

Members of the Anti-Racism Task Force read this week’s scripture, including Genesis 2:7-9, Job 27:3-6, and Isaiah 42:1-9. To download the scripture text, click here.

From Music Ministry Director Jennifer Anderson: In this time of both a collective passion and outrage, and the challenging work of personal introspection, the words of Maggie Wheeler’s “Maybe I’ll Sing” seem to speak to me today, and to perhaps you as well. Where do you hear yourself in these words? Your neighbor? And, if we believe this is a sacred moment of holy change, where do you hear the Spirit – the Spirit of refining fire, the Spirit who breathes new life into that which was tired, the Spirit who blows through all of creation bringing God’s holy justice to our world.

From Abbie Betinis: Inspired by the pandemic, and recorded a few weeks ago, but sharing now with the prayer that all people may have the human right to decide what’s best for their own physical and mental health without fearing for their safety while running, standing in the sun, or – certainly – trying to breathe.

Offering

If Central is your church home, we encourage you to continue your tithes and offerings during this season. In so many ways, the work of Central is more important than ever before as we step up to serve those lacking important resources of daily living. Join Us for Thursday’s Connection Circle Series!

The Deacons of Central are pleased to continue the recently launched Connection Circles with a 6-week series this coming next month.  Connection Circles are teleconference Zoom sessions offered to provide an avenue for the Central community to connect and share a directed conversation, share concerns and offer support.  The series will be on Thursdays from 5 - 6:00 p.m. and running until July 9.  Participants can be a part of one or as many as you like!

For the Zoom access information, check the mid-week eConnect email newsletter each week or email Anna Sanchez in the church office.

SAVE THE DATE FOR THE WOMEN’S NETWORKING DINNER

The Women’s Networking Group will be connecting for another fun Zoom gathering on Wednesday, June 17th from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.. This gathering is simply to share fellowship with one another.  To provide support to one another.  To be together as women of Central.

Our original plan was to go to Pazzaluna in June.  Sadly, we can't do that, but, we can join together to share stories, dreams, experiences, wishes, favorite foods, anything that resonates for us these days. And, if you have something you wish to share that connects for you to Italy, bring that idea/story/experience with you.

The Zoom access info will be shared in the upcoming mid-week emails or you can request it directly from the Women of Central at women@centralforgood.org.
