Worship Online
Central’s Session has agreed that it is in the best interest of all who worship at Central, and all who are served by our community, to cancel all in-person worship and activities at Central until further notice. Every Sunday, new content will be posted to this page for a worship-on-demand experience that you can view anytime throughout the week. For those without regular internet access, we are mailing worship materials via postal mail. If you have limited web access or know of someone in need of mailed content, please contact Anna Sanchez or call (651) 224-4748.

SHARE IN SUNDAY FELLOWSHIP OCTOBER 18
After the congregation meeting this past month, we shared in our first virtual coffee hour. It was a great time to see familiar faces, connect with those we have missed, and simply check-in on what is happening in our Central Community. So, we would like to welcome you all to our next virtual coffee hour! Join us on Zoom on Sunday, October 18 from 11:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. for an opportunity to share fellowship time. We will participate in two break-out groups so you have an opportunity to talk with many that day! The Zoom access info is included in the mid-week e-Connect email.
If you have questions about this event, contact Kiera Faye, Chair of the New Members and Volunteers Committee, and our host for this event, or message Anna in the office.
KNITTING GROUP
Knitters of all ages are invited to share in a Zoom gathering on Monday, October 19 from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. This invitation is extended to all folks - men, women, teens, kids - that like to knit or crochet or have an interest in learning more. We are excited to see what everyone has been doing and welcome you to share what knitting projects you have been working on during Covid-19. The Zoom access info is included in the mid-week e-Connect email each week or you can request form the office.
FAITH FORMATION FOR CHILDREN & YOUTH
We won't have a regular Zoom gathering this week because of the Fall Family Hike, but look for a virtual lesson! Check out our lesson from this past Sunday on these interactive Google Slides for all ages!
Regular Gathering Times:
11:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Prek-5th grade (split by ages after greeting & check-in)
1:00 - 1:45 p.m. Middle and high school youth
2:00 - 3:00 p.m. Confirmation class
Led by Katie Morris, Megan Beese, and other adults in the Central community, we hope to provide space for the children and youth to stay connected with their church friends and feel spiritually nourished. (The Zoom links are included in the Children and Youth weekly email.) If you need help or have questions, contact Katie Morris. We know that online gatherings don't work well for everyone, and we understand! If you have ideas about how your child would like to stay connected, or how your family would like to be supported by church programming this year, let us know.
CONNECTION CIRCLES
Trust will be the topic when Maureen Smith leads the connection circle Thursday, October 22 at 5:30 p.m. The conversation will be about what makes someone trustworthy, how we decide who to trust, whether our experiences may have made us slow to trust or inclined to trust, what destroys trust, and how we have built trust in the Connection Circles.
Have you yet shared in Central's weekly Connection Circles? Connection Circles run every Thursday until December 17 from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. (with the exception of Thanksgiving Day). These Zoom events are hosted by Central's Deacons and offered as a means for our community to gather and connect through different guided conversations. People of all ages and backgrounds share personal stories, concerns, and offer support with others. If you have not yet been a part of one, we invite you to stop by for this wonderful, casual gathering. Be a part of one or as many as you like! The Zoom link can be requested from Anna Sanchez or found in the weekly mid-week email eConnect.
REFLECTING AND REMEMBRANCE THIS ALL SAINTS’ DAY
On Sunday, November 1st from 10:00 a.m. - Noon, the Worship, Music and Arts Committee invites you to a time of reflection and remembering in our church sanctuary. During this open house event, there will be an opportunity to pray, see the names and memorial items of church members and friends who have died in the last year, honor all those who have died of COVID-19, hear meditative music by some of our musicians, light candles for those in your life who you want to remember, and give thanks for this All Saints' Day.
In order to create a safe environment, and in following the CDC guidelines, we will limit the number of people in the sanctuary and the building, and we will have directions on entering and exiting the building. Please park in the Minnesota Public Radio lot (behind the church off 9th and Minnesota). An usher will invite you in and guide you up to the sanctuary. Upon leaving the space, you will be asked to exit the Cedar Street door and go back to the MPR lot via the sidewalk. Both spaces are accessible; however, accommodations will be made for those who need to return to the MPR via the church elevator. Masks will be required; we will have extras for those who need one.
We would invite anyone who would like to remember a loved one (they do not need to be a member of Central church) who has died within the last year to bring a special item to display as part of the memorial. Perhaps a photo, a craft item, or a special gift that speaks of what made that person unique and loved. These items will be on display not only during the Nov. 1 open-house hours, but will also be included in a video used in on-line worship that morning.
Items should be brought to the church office during the following times. (It is helpful to call Anna or Mary ahead of time so they know to listen for you at 651-224-4728).
Tuesday, Oct. 27th from 9:00 a.m.. - 3:00 p.m.
Wednesday, Oct. 28th from 9:00 a.m.. - 3:00 p.m.
Worship will also be available on-line on Sunday, November 1, at www.centralforgood.org/stream, and will include a video of the memorial display, reading of the names of Central members and friends who have died in the last year, as well as the sacrament of Communion.
QUESTIONS AND EMERGENCIES
If at anytime you have questions, concerns or ideas, we invite you to reach out to our staff who will continue to be available. While voice mail will be checked as staff are able, we encourage you to send emails for more immediate response. If you have a pastoral emergency, please call 651-224-4728 ext. 102 and the voicemail will provide instruction to reach the pastor.
