Join us for worship !

Sunday, March 24 - 10:30 am

“But why did this happen?”  When confronted with tragedy and violence, one of our first impulses is to seek an explanation, and to try to ease our concerns that something  similar could happen to us.  In Luke, Jesus confronts tough questions about tragedies (Luke 13:1-9).  Rev. Colby will preach. Central Choir sings with Sharon Kleckner as guest organist.  “Sticks and Steel” share in worship with rehearsal at 10:00 a.m. in sanctuary.

If the way be clear, Ashley Bair will be ordained in a service of worship at First Presbyterian Church on Saturday, March 23 in in Holt, Michigan.

sermon excerpt

In a world filled with violence and evil, Jesus teaches us how to resist.  To witness to a better way than cycles of violence and retribution.  To pray our way into loving more than just the people who are like us.  To pray even for our enemies.  To be creative in standing up to violence and to stand up for those who have little power.
