vision & values

We put our faith into action by nurturing spiritual growth and reflecting the call of God to serve our neighbor.

We transform our communities by promoting social justice and engaging others in ministries that drive change.

We invite everyone to the table, sharing fellowship, worship, meals, music and works as one body.

you are welcome here

Central Presbyterian Church is a community centered in Christ and experiencing God’s extraordinary grace.  We are part of the Presbyterian Church (USA), a Christian denomination of 1.8 million members in over 10,000 congregations.

Whether you have had a relationship with God your whole life or are just now exploring God’s existence, you may find a fit in Central's community.  Everybody is welcome here and we embrace the value of being different together.  We recognize that we are all in different places on our spiritual journeys, and we celebrate our differences and mutual acceptance as children of God in this wonderful life conversation.  We seek to be caring, real people who love God, and want to make a difference through serving and partnering with others.

We gather in worship, grow by grace,
and go into the world to serve.

FOR DISCIPLESHIP

We know Jesus Christ loves us as we are, and encourages us to grow spiritually and relationally. We believe lasting growth and change happen in our lives as we engage with others and God’s word.

FOR JUSTICE

We believe God’s love is to be shared to bring peace, comfort, and justice.  Accordingly, we work with local and global mission partners to learn and be actively engaged in efforts toward reconciliation and strengthening our community.

Where is your spiritual journey taking you?

Our History

The history of Central Presbyterian Church begins in 1851 with the arrival of Rev. John Riheldaffer to a two-year-old territory that would one day become the State of Minnesota.   Despite being robbed en route to the City of Saint Paul and the cold of a Minnesota winter, the Riheldaffers stayed to found Central Presbyterian Church in February 1852 with seven members.
