Children’s Ministry

For birth - 5th grade

Children are loved and active at Central!  We include them in worship, have age-appropriate Sunday School curriculum and classrooms, and nurture inter-generational connections.

Sunday Morning Opportunities for Children

sunday school offered September - may

Childcare is available (9:30 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.) whenever there is regular Sunday morning programming year round, as well as during occasional other worship services.

9:15 a.m.

  • The Exchange offers gathering time for all ages in the Friendship Room to welcome and connect for fellowship.

9:30 a.m.

  • Nursery care for children whose parents are in choir practice, teaching Sunday School, or attending adult Sunday School classes (in the Nursery)

  • Preschool class for children age 3 through kindergarten (in the Jungle Room)

  • Younger elementary class for 1st-3rd graders (in the Orange Room)

  • Older elementary class for 4th-5th graders (in the lower level John Huss Room)

10:30 a.m.

  • Nursery and preschool care is available for children that do not attend service

  • Children attending service participate in a sermon segment focused on them

Central uses a Presbyterian curriculum called Growing in Grace and Gratitude for all ages of kids this year.  It is lectionary based curriculum so the stories that kids are learning in Sunday School usually are reinforced during that next hour of worship.
