vacation bible school
June 17-21, 2019
registration now closed!
Last year we joined forces with the House of Hope Presbyterian Church to offer vacation Bible school. It was deemed a good success with our staff and kids working and having fun together. This year we are expanding the partnership! This summer Central will be partnering with Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in St. Paul to offer a fun vacation bible school experience for the children and youth of Central.
Vacation Bible School will be held at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church (700 Snelling Ave S, St Paul, MN 55116) on June 17-21, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Preschool through Grade 4
Open to children who are 4-years-old by September 1, 2019, through Grade 4, completed by June 2019.
Each day at Roar VBS children in small groups will explore four different stations - Imagination Station, Games, KidVid Cinema and Bible Discovery. Each station engages the child differently to deepen their understanding of the daily Bible point. In addition, the children gather together for the fun-filled Sing & Play. Children will also collect Bible Buddies each day to take home on Friday. Each Bible Buddy includes the special Bible verse for the day.
Cost is $40.00 (includes t-shirt, materials and snack). Scholarships are available.
Grades 5 & 6
Students who have completed fifth and sixth grade as of June 2019 are welcome to join Vacation Bible School as a junior leader.
This program trains our newest leaders to take on more responsibility as a witness to the Gospel. Students will be leading our opening and closing, helping in the kitchen, and working with our outreach program.
In addition, this group will have age appropriate activities for their own faith development around the Roar VBS theme.
Cost is $20.00 (includes t-shirt, materials and snack). Scholarships are available.
Extended Afternoon program
This year, Gloria Dei is partnering with Pilgrim, Immanuel, and House of Hope churches to provide afternoon VBS Care Monday through Thursday from noon to 4:00 pm for grades 2-6 only. (Central is considering other afternoon childcare options. If you are interested or wanto learn more, please contact Katie Morris for more information.)
Bring a bag lunch each day to eat at Gloria Dei. Then depending on the day, children will either stay on site or travel by bus or van to do service projects or fun activities. Daily activities are currently being determined.
Cost is an additional $40 and a separate registration is required.
Easy and fun volunteer opportunities are available for adults to serve as preschool or elementary crew managers or for youth in grades 7-12 to serve as crew guides and classroom assistants. There is also a need for extra hands in the kitchen to help prepare snacks each day.
Step One: Visit the Gloria Dei website found here.
Step Two: Register for the areas you are interested in.
Step Three: Pay for registration in a separate link under registration. If you are requesting a scholarship, email Anna in Central’s office and she will remit payment on your behalf.
