designated associate PASTOR
Ashley was called to ministry at Central in January 2019. Ashley comes to Central having graduated with a Master of Divinity from Princeton Seminary in May 2018. During that time she served as a Student Minister with Brick Presbyterian Church in New York City and as an Interfaith Chaplain at NYU Langone hospital. Ashley is passionate about community and the vital connection of a church to its community both inside and outside its own walls. She believes our call as Christians is to love our neighbor and ourselves in the most real way possible. She was drawn to Central’s motto, “in the city for good,” and is encouraged by the imagination and
commitment Central has with the St. Paul community and God’s world.
Before entering seminary, Ashley obtained a Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan and worked in grassroots non-profit development, organizing, and community building, as well as crisis and trauma hospital intervention.
Ashley is an environmental and peace activist and serves as an Activist Council member with the Presbyterian Peace Fellowship. She has traveled to four continents to work on behalf of non-violent peace initiatives and
cross-cultural activism. Her environmental contributions include national overtures with the Presbyterian Church (USA) on fossil fuel divestment and the congressional resolution on a Green New Deal.
Ashley is ambidextrous, very well acquainted with Antiques Roadshow and C-SPAN, and currently developing a masterful collection of the hottest hot sauces.
